Dry rock or live rock?
« on: September 10, 2011, 05:10:54 PM »
I bought my rock today from http://www.bulkreefsupply.com for my 29 gal. This is the first time i've bought dry rock and there seems to be a fair amount of benefits. (to me at least)

Tell us what you think and why!  :D

I used Marco rock. I love it. Clean no die off. Extremely Porous compared to the live rock I've seen. The more porous the better for filtration.

+1 50+lbs dry Marco. I used 2 live pieces about 7 lbs total to seed.
One of the live pieces is in the far right corner of the 3rd pic. From the top.

i like both i like dry rock because you can drill and epoxy to make cool aquascapes but live rock is very benificial if it is good quality so i would always have a little bit of live rock to seed the dry rock

Got Manado live rock from premium aquatics about 4 months ago along with about 50% dry rock for 135 gal set up. As of now still seeing new macro's and inverts on allmost a daily basis. Expensive but in my book worth it.
