DIY media reactor plans?
« on: June 12, 2011, 09:36:33 PM »
anyone have any ideas or plans for a DIY phosphate reactor?  Any idea what I could use for the main cylinder? This looks neat but I think it needs to be bigger

you dont want to do that. It is touchy if you dont get the holes just right. You think you got phosphate problems now, waite till you have GFO all over your tank leaching phosphate...You better drop a bomb on it and forget it :D

The best way is the R0 Canister build using a RO canister, a refillable DI canister in which you will put your GFO. Bulk reef supply sells the kit that but I think you can buy the stuff and make it yourself cheaper.

I think you would be fine with the single....But Serious you can make it for cheaper I assume....Its just a RO canister....A REFILLABLE DI Canister and some John Guest Fittings.

$10-15 for the canister

$5 for the fittings

$2 for the tubing

$5 for the refilable cartridge.

This is the one I use on my 60 gal. I like it because it has everything you need, just plug in the tank.
Cant go wrong with that.

Good Seamonster!
OTS, nutrient rich rocks or whatever hell it could be, your algae problem will vanish.
Just be patient and allow at least a couple of weeks(2 maybe) for it to take effect!
Good luck!
