fixing photo
« on: December 11, 2011, 11:50:21 AM »
ok so i did some photoshop for the first time. i used it on my FTS pic in the gallery. for some reason it wont let me post the pic at its orignal size. the first one that is not fixed up posted with no problem. however the fixed up one wont post. i did not change anything but the color sharpness and such. i did not change the size of the pic at all. if you notice in the fixed pic some of it is cut out.
WHY ?

Looks like your editing software made the photo size larger?

Yea. I have no idea what I'm doing. Which is the reason I don't post pics to often. This computer stuff might as well be Chinese.

Editing software sometimes changes file extensions after altering the image, make sure it is a .jpg, a well excepted extension.

After reading your original post again I think your dilemma is based on file size, as Seamonster stated. Your upload picture size must be under 150KB in total size. If it is over it will not be accepted. Adjust image size from the menu (not sure of your program so I can't be more specific than that). Usually 800X600 will do the trick. Editing a photo can increase the file size so do what you want to the photo first, then change the size of the image last. And make sure when you save the final copy it is in the .jpg extension.

I'm using iPhoto. For some reason when I size it to 1000+1000 it only fits the frogspawn in the pic. Well like half the frogspawn.
This is the first time I have ever done this. The original size is 67Kb
I really appreciate the help. I'm clueless thanks again everyone

I use iphoto09.  just double click on the image you want to edit and select edit.  once finished editing just click done and you are good to go.  You can resize as needed after you are done editing.  For resizing I used the link on the homepage picresize.com
