« on: July 09, 2011, 07:57:31 AM »
my powerheads have been falling of daily now i tried cleaning them and gluing them to the glass with coral glue which works for a day but thats not enough. today i remebered i had two large algae cleaner magnets i never used just sitting in the closet so im going to use those to keep my powerheads from falling here is what i did.

materials

powerheads
 5 min expoxy
2 algae magnet cleaners
piece of cardboard
stick to mix expoxy

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

step 1. take the power heads and let them dry it took 5-10 mins u just need the back end dry (suction cups)
step 2. take the expoxy and place a good amout on the piece of cardboard u have and mix it well

step 3. place a fair amount of expoxy on the two magnets that go into the tank (flat sided ones)  now place the powerhead onto the magnet pressing down firmly to ensure a good stick and all aeras get coverd

What a great idea!!  And certainly easier than finding replacement suction cups.  Thanks for this! :)

I have found some epoxies deteriorate in the water over time. Have you worked with this particular one before, if so does it hold up over time?
